Theme Oriented Public Site (TOPS)

SLED has collaborated with Beyond 20/20 to create a web-based extension to the SCIBRS repository. This extension, known as the “Theme-Oriented Public Site,” or TOPS, provides data visualization directly from the SCIBRS repository.

Users can search for dynamic crime information by jurisdiction, year, and category. After passing quality assurance reviews, the information contained within TOPS is updated and made available throughout the year.

SLED South Carolina Child Fatalities Report

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) Special Victims Unit (SVU) Department of Child Fatalities (DCF) Annual Report is designed to present a comprehensive, nonbiased analysis of the statistics and emerging trends related to child fatalities across the state.

The report is submitted on an annual basis to the Governor and General Assembly of South Carolina, serving as a vital resource for understanding the gravity of child fatalities and the underlying factors contributing to such tragedies.

The data presented within this report was meticulously gathered from investigations conducted by agents in SLED’s SVU DCF. This report is written and submitted to the Governor and General Assembly in compliance with S.C. Code Ann. § 63-11-1940-(11).

The 2024 edition marks the report's inaugural release.
