SLED charges two Charleston County men with multiple drug offenses after seizing illegal THC products

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged brothers Ahmed Fathy Shedid, 35, and Ibrahim Fathy Shedid, 29, with the offenses listed below on Wednesday, November 6, 2024:
Possession With the Intent to Distribute Delta 8 Acetate – analogue of THC
Possession With the Intent to Distribute Delta 8 Tetrahydrocannabivarin – analogue of THC
Possession With the Intent to Distribute Delta 9 THC Acetate – analogue of THC
Possession With the Intent to Distribute Hexahydrocannabinol (HHC) – analogue of THC
Possession With the Intent to Distribute Delta 8 Tetrahydrocanabinol (THC)
Possession With the Intent to Distribute Exo-Tetrahydrocannabinol – analogue of THC
Trafficking Marijuana
The SLED investigation was part of a joint operation in partnership with the Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) involving the distribution and storage of counterfeit controlled/non controlled medications and illegal narcotics out of a warehouse retailer known as A2Z Wholesales in North Charleston, SC. Following the federal seizure of counterfeit Viagra, SLED executed state search warrants on February 28, 2024, for THC variants in a warehouse owned by the Shedid brothers.
During the operation, SLED observed several cardboard boxes of different sizes located throughout the warehouse that contained different variations of THC and Delta 8 products to include being out on display on shelves for sale. These items included THC substances in different variations of vape pens, liquids, edibles, and waxes that were labeled as fruit and candy flavors such as: berry punch, orange creamsicle, and ice cream cake.
The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office and the North Charleston City Police Department assisted SLED and federal partners in the operation.

Ahmed and Ibrahim Shedid were booked into the Berkeley County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 9th Circuit Solicitor’s Office
