SLED Charges South Carolina Department of Correction Inmate with Assault & Battery of a High & Aggravated Nature, Criminal Conspiracy, and Assault & Battery by Mob

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Brendan Gregory Taylor, 28, with Assault & Battery of a High & Aggravated Nature, Criminal Conspiracy, and Assault & Battery by Mob - 2nd Degree on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. The Greenville Detention Center requested the SLED investigation.

Details can be found in the attached warrants.

On April 9, 2025, following the incident, Taylor was transferred from the Greenville County Detention Center to the South Carolina Department of Corrections on unrelated charges and remains there at this time.

The case will be prosecuted by the 13th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.

Taylor’s arrest is in connection with SLED’s October 29, 2025, arrest of Calvin Lee Thompson Jr., 27, and Tishone Dunlap-Wright, 23. They were charged with Assault & Battery of a High & Aggravated Nature, Assault & Battery by Mob - 2nd Degree, and Criminal Conspiracy.
