SLED Charges Former Greenville County Detention Officer with Sexual Misconduct with Inmates

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Jamil Chereze Higginbotham Mckenzie, 34, with First Degree Sexual Misconduct with an Inmate and Second Degree Sexual Misconduct with an Inmate on Thursday, November 20, 2025. The Greenville County Detention Center requested the SLED investigation.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Mckenzie was booked into the Greenville County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 13th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
