SLED Charges Florence County Man with Ill Treatment of Animals, Animal Fighting or Baiting, and Criminal Conspiracy

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Douglas McFadden Jr., 41, with four counts of Ill Treatment of Animals, four counts of Animal Fighting or Baiting, and Criminal Conspiracy on Thursday, September 11, 2025. The Lake City Police Department requested the SLED investigation.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
McFadden Jr. was booked into the Florence County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 12th Circuit Solicitor's Office.
