Agents with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Quenell Marquis Anderson, 37, with Murder on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. Anderson was apprehended in Upper Marlboro, MD, with assistance from the Maryland State Police, who were supported by officers with the Prince Geroge's County Police Department.

SLED previously charged Roscoe Pough, Jr., 37, with Accessory After the Fact to Murder on Monday, March 4, 2024. SLED was requested on March 2, 2024, by the Johnston Police Department to investigate a death. The Edgefield County Coroner identified the deceased as Ricky Martin, Jr., 35, of Sumter, SC.
Anderson was booked at the Edgefield County Detention Center and is being housed in the Newberry County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 11th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
