SLED Charges Dorchester County Man with Weapon Violations Following Officer Involved Shooting

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged David Juan Bryant, 47, with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon of a Violent Crime - 1st Offense and Pointing a Firearm at a Person on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Bryant was the subject in the Officer Involved Shooting that occurred on Monday, July 14, 2025, in North Charleston. The SLED investigation is active and ongoing.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Bryant was booked into the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center in Charleston County.
The case will be prosecuted by the 9th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
