SLED Charges Beaufort County Man with Animal Fighting and Ill Treatment of Animals

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Justinn Benjamin Moultrie, 30, with nine counts of Animal Fighting, and nine counts of Ill Treatment of Animals on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
During an operation on August 11, 2025, 10 dogs (9 adults, 1 puppy) were seized from a residence in Beaufort County and placed with the Humane World for Animals organization for veterinary care. Moultrie was not located during the operation. SLED agents located Moultrie and arrested him on August 26, 2025.

Moultrie was booked into the Beaufort County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 14th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
