SLED charges Bamberg County man with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, unlawful possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a felony offense, arson - third degree, and desecration of human remains

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Jarrett Haskell Davis, 28, with Murder, Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Felony Offense, Arson – third degree, and Desecration of Human Remains on Friday, May 3, 2024.

SLED was requested by the Bamberg County Sheriff’s Office to investigate following the discovery of a burned car and human remains off of Turn Ray Road in Bamberg on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. SLED’s investigation is active and ongoing.
Davis was booked at the Bamberg County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 2nd Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
