The Mt. Pleasant Chamber of Commerce honored the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) for its contribution related to a multi-agency manhunt on Sullivan’s Island earlier this year.
On May 1, SLED agents from the Low Country Region, along with teams from Narcotics, Human Trafficking, Alcohol Enforcement, Arson, the Tracking Team, and Aviation responded to a request from the Sullivan’s Island Police Department to find and arrest the man who had careened through the parking lot of the Sunrise Presbyterian Church, injuring a number of children before driving away.
After a five-hour manhunt, the hit-and-run suspect, Justin Adams, was taken into custody. SLED, along with the 24 other law enforcement agencies assisting in the operation were honored during the June 18 recognition luncheon.
Representing SLED at the Chamber luncheon were Lt. Mitchell Altman, Special Agent Dylan Hightower, and Special Agent Peter Rudofski.
