SLED Employees Take the Plunge to Support Special Olympics

Monday, Feb 10, 2025

They call it the Polar Plunge for a reason!  While the most popular shower temperature typically ranges from 95°F to 105°F, SLED employees and their family members chose to jump into 51°F water temperatures at Lake Murray on Saturday, February 8.

The team raised money to help support Special Olympics South Carolina. The event raised a total of $83,343.00.

The Lake Murray Polar Plunge is part of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Torch Run campaign to support Special Olympics events throughout the state.
