SLED charges two Sumter County men with ill treatment of animals and conspiracy

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Justin Jermaine Rhodes, 35, and Fuqron Nelson, 38, with two counts each of Conspiracy and four counts each of Ill Treatment of Animals on Thursday, March 27, 2025. SLED was assisted by the Sumter Police Department and the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Rhodes and Nelson were booked into the Sumter County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 3rd Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
