SLED Charges Two Chester County Men with Criminal Conspiracy, Animal Fighting or Baiting, and Ill Treatment of Animals

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Deveko Lavar Kennedy, 35, with 17 counts of Criminal Conspiracy and four counts of Animal Fighting or Baiting on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
SLED also charged Moaderell Allen Woods, 45, with three counts of Criminal Conspiracy, eight counts of Animal Fighting or Baiting, and nine counts of Ill Treatment of Animals on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
The Chester County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.

Kennedy and Woods were booked into the Chester County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 6th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
