SLED charges Spartanburg County man with 17 offenses

Agents with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Rodney Eugene Shipman, 56, on Friday, January 12, 2024, with the following offenses:
2 counts, Obtaining Signature Under False Pretenses, $2,000 or less
2 counts, Obtaining Signature Under False Pretenses, value more than $2,000, less than $10,000
2 counts, Obtaining Signature Under False Pretenses, value $10,000 or more
1 count, Breach of Trust with Fraudulent Intent, $2,000 or less
2 counts, Breach of Trust with Fraudulent Intent, value more than $2,000, less than $10,000
2 counts, Breach of Trust with Fraudulent Intent, value of $10,000 or more
6 counts, Residential Homebuilder Practicing Without a License

The SLED investigation was requested by the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Shipman was booked at the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
