SLED Charges Mullins Police Officer with Embezzlement and Misconduct in Office

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Chrisgen Shemar Gause, 24, with Embezzlement of Public Funds - Less Than $10,000 and Misconduct in Office on Thursday, August 21, 2025. The Mullins Police Department requested the SLED investigation.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Gause was booked into the Marion County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 12th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
