SLED charges four people with lottery fraud during annual compliance checks

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged the following individuals with Intent to Defraud, Counterfeit Game Tickets: Terry Xavier Myers, 30, on July 2, 2024, Ayesha Monique Watts, 50, on July 9, 2024, Barbara M. Kreis, 30, on September 18, 2024, and Ishrat Ahmad Syed, 57, on October 9, 2024,

All subjects were booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County.
SLED Lottery Agents are primarily involved in the enforcement of SC Code of Laws 59-150- 260A as it pertains to the South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL). The Agents work in conjunction with the Director of Security at the SCEL and answer complaints throughout South Carolina. The cases focus on the theft of and attempted redemption of tickets including the attempted cashing of altered tickets. These complaints come to SLED through the South Carolina Education Lottery.
