SLED Charges Former Williamsburg County Sheriff's Deputy with Assault & Battery

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Garey Darnell McKnight, 48, with Assault & Battery - 3rd Degree on Friday, December 12, 2025. The SLED investigation was requested by the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Details can be found in the attached warrant.
McKnight was booked into Williamsburg County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 3rd Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
