SLED Charges a Former Nurse and a Former Direct Support Professional with Neglect of a Vulnerable Adult

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Angela Peterson, also known as Angela Poynter, 46, and Sherika Reid Myles, 41, with Neglect of a Vulnerable Adult on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. The Coastal Regional Center (CRC)requested the SLED investigation. The CRC is operated by the Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Peterson and Reid Myles were booked into the Dorchester County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 1st Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
