SLED Charges Former Ninth Circuit Public Defender’s Office Legal Assistant with Impersonating a Lawyer

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Lashonda Charlen Ravenell, 37, with Impersonating a Lawyer on Monday, October 5, 2026. The 9th Circuit Solicitor’s Office requested the SLED investigation.
Details can be found in the attached warrant.
Ravenell was booked into the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center in Charleston County.
The case will be prosecuted by the 9th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
