SLED Charges Former Lake City Police Department Corporal with Assault & Battery and Misconduct in Office

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Joshua William Norris, 27, with Assault & Battery - 3rd Degree and Misconduct in Office on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. The Lake City Police Department requested the SLED investigation.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Norris was booked into the Florence County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 12th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
