SLED charges former Columbia police officer with assault & battery 2nd degree, misconduct in office

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Caleb Oshia Hickmon-Payne, 26, with Assault & Battery 2nd Degree and Misconduct in Office on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. The SLED investigation was requested by the Columbia Police Department.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Hickmon-Payne was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County.
The case will be prosecuted by the 5th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
