SLED Charges Former Camden Military Academy Dean of Students with Sex Crimes against Minors

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged John Anthony Heflin, 54, with Disseminating Harmful Material or Exhibiting a Harmful Performance to a Minor, Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor - Victim Under 16 Years of Age - 2nd Degree, Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor, and Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor - 3rd Degree on Thursday, July 31, 2025. The Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office requested the SLED investigation.
Details can be found in the attached warrants.
Heflin was booked into the Kershaw County Detention Center.
SLED previously charged Heflin with Criminal Solicitation of a Minor on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
The case will be prosecuted by the 5th Circuit Solicitor’s office.
