SLED charges former Camden military academy dean of students with criminal solicitation of a minor

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged John Heflin, 53, with Criminal Solicitation of a Minor on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
The SLED investigation was requested by the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Office.
Details can be found in the attached warrant.
Heflin was booked into the Kershaw County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 5th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
