SLED charges Florida man with 3 offenses related to vehicle fraud

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Joshua James Jones, 21, with Fraudulent Application or Misrepresentation of Facts in Registering a Motor Vehicle, and Forgery – value $10,000 or more, on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Jones was charged with Obtaining a Signature or Property by False Pretenses on Thursday, July 11, 2024.

Jones was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County, then the York County Detention Center.
The case in Richland County will be prosecuted by the 5th Circuit Solicitor’s Office. The case in York County will be prosecuted by the 16th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
