SLED Charges Darlington County Woman with Obstruction Related to Recent Officer Involved Shooting

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) charged Linda Perry Dennett, 77, with Obstruction of Justice and Misprision of a Felony on Thursday, July 3, 2025. The arrest is related to the officer involved shooting that occurred on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in Darlington County. The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office requested the SLED investigation.

Dennett was booked into the Darlington County Detention Center.
The case will be prosecuted by the 4th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
This is an active and ongoing investigation.
