January is Crime Stoppers Awareness Month and 2026 is a landmark year for the organization.
It celebrates 50 years of Crime Stoppers internationally and the 20th anniversary of the SC Crime Stoppers Council. This model of guaranteed anonymity and cash rewards is now the standard for Crime Stoppers programs worldwide.
South Carolina currently has 11 Council certified Crime Stoppers programs, serving 19 of the state's 46 counties. Efforts are currently underway to establish new programs in Orangeburg and Allendale counties in 2026.
