Procurement Department, points of contact, and how to do business with the South
Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED)
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) Procurement Department is located
at 4400 Broad River Road, Columbia, S.C. 29210. The Procurement Department staff
may be reached in its Headquarters Office at (803) 896-7004 or in its Forensics
Laboratory Office at (803) 896-7171. Work Hours are between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Monday through Friday, except for official Holidays.
Support Services
Procurement, Supply, and Fixed Assets employees provide SLED staff with assistance
in their respective areas. Responsibilities include procurement of goods and services,
establishing internal procurement policies and procedures, receiving and warehousing,
fixed asset inventory control and disposal, building and property insurance, contract
administration, and agency records management.
Doing Business with SLED
Businesses or Individuals
desiring to do business with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED)
need to furnish the Procurement Department a company profile or literature describing
their product line or services offered. Names of sales representatives with telephone
and FAX numbers should also be provided.
To be established as a registered
vendor, a Federal Employee Identification Number (FEIN) or social security number
must be provided. This information must be submitted on a W9 Form which can be obtained
from the SLED Procurement Specialists or from the Internal Revenue Services Available

Commodities/Services
The South Carolina Law Enforcement
Division purchases an array of goods and services utilized to support a variety
of law enforcement tasks. Commodities include office equipment and supplies, vehicle
repairs, ammunition, laboratory equipment and supplies, information technology equipment,
communication equipment, rotary aircraft equipment, building supplies, protective
clothing, uniforms, various robotics equipment, all terrain vehicles, automobiles,
trucks, and professional services.
Small and Minority Owned Business Assistance Program
In compliance with Article
21 of the South Carolina Procurement Code, the Governors Office of Small and Minority
Owned Business Assistance (OSMBA) has implemented a certification process for those
businesses meeting the definition of a small and minority owned business. Additional

Small and Minority Owned Business Utilization Plan
The South Carolina Law Enforcement
Division (SLED) annually submits a utilization plan for approval to the OSMBA. This
plan is developed to permit those certified small and minority owned businesses
the opportunity to participate in the procurement process of this agency.
In compliance with Section
11-35-5240 of the South Carolina Procurement code, this agency submits progress
reports to the OSMBA after the end of each fiscal quarter. A copy of these reports
is on file at the

campus. Said reports outline specific categories in which this agency anticipates
spending non-controllable dollars.
